Burger bun
ingredients
- flour | 418g
- water | 170g to 227g
- egg | 2
- salt | 2 tea spoons
- sugar | 50g
- yeast | 20g
Steps
In a bowl mix the flour, salt and yeast together.
Add the egg and stir in the water.
Knead the dough until soft and smooth.
Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 to 2 hours. It need to double in size.
Deflate the dough and divide it into 8 pieces. Form some round balls and lay them
on parchemin paper. Let them proof for one hour.
Preheat the oven at maximum power.
Prepare an egg wash by beating a full egg with 1 table spoon of water and a pinch of salt.
Brush the buns with the egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Cook them for 15 to 18 minutes.
Notes
- the water amount needed will depend on the season and the flour. Start with the
smallest amount and add until the dough reach a good hydratation.
- brush the buns with melted butter before cooking them for some nice crust.
