Burger bun (gluten free)
ingredients
- gluten free flour | 300g
- water | 300ml
- egg | 2
- olive oil | 3 table spoons
- salt | 2 tea spoons
- yeast | 10g
Steps
In a bowl mix the flour, salt and yeast together.
Add the egg and stir in the water slowly.
Knead the dough.
Add the olive oil and keep kneading until smooth.
Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 to 2 hours. It need to double in size.
Divide the dough into 6 pieces. Form some round balls and lay them
on parchemin paper. Let them proof for 15 minutes.
Preheat the oven at maximum power.
Prepare an egg wash by beating a full egg with 1 table spoon of water and a pinch of salt.
Brush the buns with the egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Cook them for 10 to 15 minutes.
Notes
- it is possible to also add an egg to the mix.
- it is also possible to add some sugar to the mix, something like 30g.
- use gluten flour that have some xanthan gum.
- brush the buns with melted butter before cooking them for some nice crust.
