Rosti
Ingredients
- potato| 5
- egg | 1
- onion | 1
Steps
Peel the potatoes and grate them. Press them with your hands to remove some of their water.
Grate the onion and add them to the potatoes.
Add salt and pepper. Break the egg and mix all together.
Heat some oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
Drop part of the potato mix into the hot oil and flatten them, very much like pancakes.
Fry on each side for 4 minutes.
Notes
- add nutmeg or other spices to the mix.
- do not use the egg and only rely on the starch of the potatoes for gluing everything together.
- add some herbs to the mix.
- use butter instead of oil for cooking the rosti.
