Sambuco syrup
Ingredients
- sambuco flowers | 20
- lemons | 4
- water | 1 liter
- sugar | 600g
Steps
First make the syrup. In a pot put the water and the sugar and bring to a boil.
Let it cool down (but not completely).
Slice the lemons.
Rinse the flowers under cold water.
Then proceed to fill a jar with layers of flower and lemons.
Pour the syrup on top.
Let it rest for 3 days, mixing it every day.
Strain the liquid from the jar.
Fill a clean bottle with it and sterilize them.
Notes
- an alternative is to pour cold water in the jar first and leave it for three days. Then strain the liquid, add the sugar to it, boil it and cook it for 10 minutes. In that case, add 1tsp of cider vinegar to the mix.
