Tiramisu
Ingredients
- mascarpone | 500g
- eggs | 5
- coffee | 1 pot
- sugar | 150g
- biscuit | 20
- cocoa powder | 2 Tbsp
Steps
Prepare the coffee and let it cool.
Separate the egg yolks from the whites.
Beat the egg yolks with the sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Add the mascarpone to the egg yolks and mix until smooth.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold the egg whites into the mascarpone mixture.
Layer the bottom of a dish with the mascarpone mixture.
Dip the biscuits into the coffee and layer them in the bottom of a dish.
Repeat the layers until all the mascarpone mixture and biscuits are used.
Sprinkle the top with cocoa powder.
Notes
- You can add a splash of rum to the coffee for an extra kick.
- If using gluten free biscuits, make more coffee as they tend to absorb more liquid.
- Prepare the tiramisu the day before serving for the best results.
- Top the sugar to 200g if you like it sweeter.
- Try it with 6 eggs maybe?
